What is a certificate of compliance?

Also known as a compliance letter, is a document confirming whether all buildings and/or structures (i.e. houses, deck, detached garages, sheds, etc.) located on a property meet the Land Use Bylaw setback regulations and restrictions.  The letter will also confirm whether appropriate permits have been issued for any improvements. 

 

To apply for a Certificate of Compliance you will need:

  • Provide at least 2 original copies of a Real Property Report dated within the last 12 months. Real Property Reports must be prepared by a Registered Alberta Land Surveyor. Please see Certificate of Compliance policy for more information.
  • Send your request and the original copies of the Real Property Report to the Town Office at: 410 20th Street, Fort Macleod, AB, T0L 0Z0

Standard - receive within 10 working days: $75.00

Rush - receive within 3 working days: $150.00
